How to Protect Yourself from Free Radical Damages
Occasionally, however, the number of free radicals in our bodies can increase considerably and begin to attack and damage our cells. Free radicals result from ongoing biochemical reactions in the body, including the oxidation of organic compounds such as sugars, metals, and other substances. Oxidative stress can result if our body is unable to process and remove these free radicals efficiently. This can damage the cells and bodily functions that lead to the general aging of your body.
Here are some ways that you can do to keep yourself healthy and looking young.
Eat Healthy

Nourishment is delivered by the food we eat. A few of those nutrients protect the skin tissues from the sun’s UV rays, others maintain your skin hydrated, and a few prevent skin damage from damaging molecules called free radicals. Moreover, other nutrients boost cellular turnover to show healthy skin in and out while others produce strong cell walls for smooth, blooming, supple-looking skin.
On the flip side, fast and processed foods like frozen goods, soda, French fries, processed meats, commercial baked products and junk foods somewhat lack nutrients that are needed by our body and generally high in sodium, sugar, unhealthy fats, and synthetic additives and flavorings. These processed foods have fewer nutrients and more chemicals that can cause inflammation in your body that results in acne-prone and wrinkly skin.
If you cannot avoid processed foods, consume a minimal amount, and replace it with healthy and natural snacks that are full of anti-oxidants.
Stop Smoking

The substances in cigarette smoke can destroy the structure of the skin cells. A recent study has determined that smoking can drastically increase the risk of skin cancer and other skin diseases such as psoriasis, gangrene, eczema, skin ulcers, and skin cancer. The more obvious sign of smoking is skin lesions, but it’s not the only one.
Fingers, nails, and toenails are not immune to the effects of smoking, but smoking increases the likelihood of nail fungal infections.
Limit Your Exposure to Chemicals
Being exposed to chemicals is something that we cannot avoid because of the environment we are in. If you are regularly exposed to pesticide and air pollutants, you are more likely to damage your cells that will eventually lead to chronic diseases. Choose more natural options when it comes to pesticides. Sunlight is a good sanitizer. Make sure you get yourself some good sunlight. If not, take necessary vitamins or supplements, keep yourself from free radical damages.
